Narrative:

I was told to taxi to 17; at intersection delta for an intersection takeoff. There was a cessna 172 in front of me that was blocking the intersection; and the controller asked him to move so I could take off. I had to carefully maneuver around the 172; as he was in the intersection. As I was doing so; I was told that I was clear to take off on 17; by the ground controller. As I was pulling around the 172; I had to swing wide and it oriented me to take off on 35; which I did. I guess having to maneuver around the 172 distracted me enough to take off on 35; the wrong way. I did not notice my mistake until the tower controller (same guy) asked what direction I was flying. I told him northeast and then he asked at what altitude and I told him 11;500 and that was all that was discussed. Contributing factors were that I was very tired from an intense business meeting that lasted all day; and the lack of sleep from the night before. Being cleared to take off by ground control momentarily surprised me.

Title: Distracted by having to taxi by another aircraft at the mid runway intersection at which he was cleared for takeoff; the pilot of a BE60 took off to the north vice the south as cleared. Believes the takeoff clearance was delivered on the Ground Control frequency.
