Aircraft arrived at the gate with log item; 'unable to align HUD in IMC or VMC.' performed bite checks and test in accordance with maintenance manual to verify or duplicate HUD fault. No faults were found; could not duplicate align faults. Signed logbook as operational check's normal. I was not aware of the revision of the procedures manual policy. I have made copies of the procedures manual section to inform me of the changes of the manual.
