Narrative:

Had just fallen asleep on break when flight attendant woke me to tell me to return to cockpit due to smoke in cockpit. Returned immediately to cockpit to find both pilots already with masks on running checklists. Extremely strong electrical smell; I felt it was unsafe to be in cockpit without oxygen. Took place at captain's position and donned mask and contacted dispatch. While talking to maintenance and dispatch smoke slowly started to dissipate and we got a status message right supply fan; realized we probably had that failure and this was confirmed by maintenance. Joint decision by all parties involved to divert and land overweight. As smoke and odor was clearing; we did not declare an emergency. Ran checklists; issued cabin advisory and landed overweight uneventfully. Failure was confirmed; supply fan replaced and continued to destination.
