Narrative:
Arrived at aircraft and stowed bags in cockpit. Went downstairs to ops to plan and noticed that there was a de-ice truck spraying the right wing. We were not informed that the aircraft was being de-iced and the aircraft was not configured. When crew came in to ops; I commented on the fact that the aircraft was not properly configured and was told that they always de-ice before the flight crew arrives to avoid a delay.
