Narrative:
On a busy night with low IFR conditions; aircraft landed safely on runway. It was obvious to crew that other aircraft were on approach. Crew instructed by tower to exit high-speed 45 degrees from runway. First officer (pilot not flying) indicated which turn off should be used. Captain stated 'I'm going this way' and made a 135 degree turn off runway. All operations were completed safely; and without delay; but this indicates how first officer's input can be overruled with potential punitive repercussions for both crew members. I am not sure how this can be corrected.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A C550 First Officer reported that his Captain exited a busy airport's runway at a taxiway other than where ATC specified exposing both pilots to possible ATC enforcement even though the First Officer had no input.
