Narrative:

Inbound to tampa on J43 we were in contact with tampa approach. We overheard approach dealing with fgt emergency inbound to mcdill AFB. Approach then gave 'immediate compliance' instructions to another aircraft at 11000'. At this point we reminded approach that we were at 11000' and observed the belly of medium large transport Y in a left turn at our 1 O'clock position. Our aircraft were approximately 1-2 mi from each other. Upon landing I was given the approach supervisor's telephone number. I contacted him and he explained what had happened and why. The fgt emergency caused the problems and caused several possible conflicts that were adequately taken care of.
