Our flight; was in a group of transatlantic flights all with similar sounding call signs. Inattention to correcting similar flight numbers regardless of airline. In addition to changing within airline; flight numbers that are so close as to be confusing; the same care should be applied to similar flight numbers across airlines.

Title: A330 Captain laments that not only does his company create many similar flight numbers; but other carriers in this instance had flight numbers ending in the same two digits causing confusion.
Narrative: Our flight; was in a group of transatlantic flights all with similar sounding call signs. Inattention to correcting similar flight numbers regardless of airline.
