I was in command of a widebody transport from sjc-mem assigned FL330, using the company call sign air carrier X aad under the control of kc center on frequency 133.45. The controller issued instructions to aad to turn right 20 degrees for traffic. He did not use a company call sign and another aad responded. I called the center and asked who the turn was for and the controller stated air carrier X aad. I believe the other flight was air carrier Y aad. I am unaware of any conflict with any aircraft. This situation could have been avoided by the controller advising both flts of the aad on the same frequency and using the air carrier X or air carrier Y call with the aad.

Title: ZKC FAILED TO USE COMPANY NAME WHEN ISSUING A CLRNC AND ANOTHER ACR WITH SAME NUMBER RESPONDED TO VECTOR HEADING.
Narrative: I WAS IN COMMAND OF A WDB FROM SJC-MEM ASSIGNED FL330, USING THE COMPANY CALL SIGN ACR X AAD UNDER THE CTL OF KC CENTER ON FREQ 133.45. THE CTLR ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS TO AAD TO TURN RIGHT 20 DEGS FOR TFC. HE DID NOT USE A COMPANY CALL SIGN AND ANOTHER AAD RESPONDED. I CALLED THE CENTER AND ASKED WHO THE TURN WAS FOR AND THE CTLR STATED ACR X AAD. I BELIEVE THE OTHER FLT WAS ACR Y AAD. I AM UNAWARE OF ANY CONFLICT WITH ANY ACFT. THIS SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY THE CTLR ADVISING BOTH FLTS OF THE AAD ON THE SAME FREQ AND USING THE ACR X OR ACR Y CALL WITH THE AAD.
