Narrative:

Trainee cleared Be76 for visual on a left downwind for runway 16; switched aircraft to tower. Shortly after C550 reported airport in sight and trainee cleared for visual on opposite downwind. Thought it was a situation to watch. Several other inbounds and trainee got confused. Took the position and in the process of lining up the sequence and working a falcon that had gone around; told the citation at some point in this that he was following a BE76 on a 2-3 mile final; when the citation was on a downwind. Went back to the rest of the sequence and got them lined up further. By the time I got back to the citation he had turned his base. Asked the citation if he saw the Be76 to follow. He stated he did not. Turned the citation out to follow the duchess and established final separation. Aircraft landed without further incident.
