Narrative:

Changed O2 bottle due to low pressure; below weekly check minimums. Used bottle container exterior tag XXXX-4 number for reference. I found missing fitting and replaced from the removed (old) bottle and leaked checked 'ok' at the gate.informed by supervisor that I did not verify illustrated parts catalog (ipc) part numbers with serviceable parts tag numbers. Another station replaced the bottle four days later. The part tag information on the shipping container must match the information on the serviceable part tag. All parts with a -4 should be entered into maintenance computer; or changed to -9 part number to give an alert; if wrong part installed.
