Narrative:
Smoke detector in lav came on in flight. F/a's discovered smoke in the mid lav. Two fire extinguishers were used to put out the fire in the trash container. The fire appears to be started by a burning cigarette. The aircraft proceeded to its final destination.

Title: WHILE ENROUTE, FIRE DISCOVERED IN LAVATORY TRASH BIN.
Narrative: SMOKE DETECTOR IN LAV CAME ON IN FLT. F/A'S DISCOVERED SMOKE IN THE MID LAV. TWO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS WERE USED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE IN THE TRASH CONTAINER. THE FIRE APPEARS TO BE STARTED BY A BURNING CIGARETTE. THE ACFT PROCEEDED TO ITS FINAL DEST.
