Narrative:

The operation was normal until taxi out including running both packs with the APU and the engine start. During the taxi; I thought I saw a slight mist in the air which I thought was caused by the airplane sitting overnight. After being cleared for takeoff; the first officer began to move the throttles to takeoff power. As he brought the power up; heavy smoke from the air conditioning vents began to fill the cockpit. I called 'aborting' and retarded the throttles to idle. The maximum speed was approximately 50 KTS. The first officer told the tower we were aborting the takeoff and cleared us to taxi off the runway. The smoke stopped as soon as we brought the throttles back. I told the flight attendants and passengers to 'remain seated' while we cleared the runway. During the taxi in; we turned the packs off and started the APU. When the APU came on line; we ran the packs with the APU and the smoke cleared.

Title: A B757-200 crew rejected the takeoff at 50 KTS when the cockpit filled with airconditioning smoke after takeoff power was set. The smoke dissipated after the airconditioning air was supplied by the APU.
