Narrative:

On approach we were kept high and fast then cleared to intercept localizer to the runway. Initially told to maintain 250 KTS and then 210 KTS. Once on the localizer we were still high and fast. In trying to ensure a stabilized approach we may have slowed sooner than approached would have liked. We were sent around and given a phone number to call. Once at the gate my captain called. He was told we were sent around due to spacing of the aircraft behind us. ATC did not get specific about us possibly slowing too soon.
