Narrative:

Abeam mia inside jesss intersection at 6000 ft and 210 KTS for landing on runway 08L. Approach cleared flight to descend to 3000 ft number one for landing. Abeam paboy on downwind approach cleared flight for visual and gave a 120 degree vector. Winds 230/08 which gave us a tailwind component. Aircrew accepted vector; which would have placed aircraft inside the final approach fix too high. Upon recognizing vector was inside the final pilot flying maneuvered to stay outside final before intercepting localizer. Aircraft stabilized approach at 500 ft; but landed long beyond normal landing touchdown area. Aircraft brought to a stop and turned off runway at lima 10 intersection at end of runway.
