Narrative:

While in our turn (approximately 360 degree heading) and climbing out of 9000' to 12000' at 10 NM northwest of orl VOR, the first officer and second officer identified an fgt military aircraft overhead (approaching from our 2 O'clock position) that appeared to have missed our aircraft by less than 1000'. Approach control informed us that they were not talking to this aircraft at the time of the near miss. Note: right after departure, departure control asked us to squawk 2382. We replied that we were transmitting that code. Departure control then informed us that we were not programmed into their computer.
