Narrative:

On 3/fri/88, at XA00, the frequencys on the sinca sector 08 (123.95/269.3), dublin sector 07 (126.42/353.9), and augusta sector 20 (128.1/323.0) were released for maintenance to repair a squeal on 126.42. The back up frequencys were unreliable and often unusable for communication with aircraft. Several times the sinca sector (11000-23000') also had to work the aircraft within the dublin sector (24000-33000') because the back up frequencys for the dublin sector did not work. Approximately XF00 the frequencys on south departure sector 21 (133.1/348.7) became unusable. The communication system that the ATC system is using is unreliable because of its age. Newer equipment is urgently required.
