Narrative:
We (air carrier X) clrd to taxi runway 13 via inner and east hold short of runway 4 (landing 4, departure 13). #1 position to cross 4. Ground controller clrd us to cross 4 and enter cc. Prior to adding power I looked left to verify no traffic. Air carrier Y was just about to touch down on 4. I told ground control (female) 'I don't think you want us to do that hon'. She replied 'air carrier X hold short'. No explanations! Had we not looked there would have been a collision. Controller needs training.

Narrative: WE (ACR X) CLRD TO TAXI RWY 13 VIA INNER AND E HOLD SHORT OF RWY 4 (LNDG 4, DEP 13). #1 POSITION TO CROSS 4. GND CTLR CLRD US TO CROSS 4 AND ENTER CC. PRIOR TO ADDING POWER I LOOKED LEFT TO VERIFY NO TFC. ACR Y WAS JUST ABOUT TO TOUCH DOWN ON 4. I TOLD GND CTL (FEMALE) 'I DON'T THINK YOU WANT US TO DO THAT HON'. SHE REPLIED 'ACR X HOLD SHORT'. NO EXPLANATIONS! HAD WE NOT LOOKED THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A COLLISION. CTLR NEEDS TRAINING.
