Narrative:
Enroute; we received a master caution 'spoiler fail' message on the EICAS; as well as an 'op' indication. At the time we were level at approximately FL270. We executed the appropriate procedure; and at the completion of the procedure; we declared an emergency with ATC as per fom regarding a flight control failure. We proceeded to ZZZ; notified dispatch of our emergency; summoned crash fire rescue equipment; and landed without incident. Once clear of the runway in ZZZ; we had crash fire rescue equipment perform a visual inspection of the brakes for overheating due to the spoilers not deploying on landing. The brake temperature did not appear excessive to the crash fire rescue equipment infrared inspection; and our own brake temperature indicators indicated normal (green range).
