Narrative:

Enroute; we had an airplane swap for our next segment. When we pulled up our papers for flight; we were given aircraft X which had an inoperative integrated drive generator. I noticed in the log history that the aircraft had been refused 3 times prior to my refusal. After landing; I called dispatch to refuse the jet due to inoperative integrated drive generator. So my refusal was the fourth. As we were leaving; a new crew showed up to take our originally scheduled airplane. They were coming off the airplane that was just refused. Our flight was eventually canceled. I'm concerned an aircraft was assigned to me that had been refused 3 times prior with an inoperative integrated drive generator (idg). I would appreciate a reply.
