Narrative:
During takeoff; the flight attendants called and said we had smoke in the cabin. Before we got to 1000 ft AGL; the aft flight attendant called and said the fumes were getting worse. I declared an emergency and we landed. The fire trucks met us and boarded the aircraft. They gave us an all clear and the aircraft was towed to a gate; we changed planes and continued on. Supplemental information from acn 815391: at 500 ft AGL; front flight attendants reported smoke in the cabin. Approximately 5 seconds later the aft flight attendant reported very strong smell of 'burning plastic.' the captain coordinated with ATC while I coordinated with the flight attendants and ran the checklist. We donned our oxygen masks and accomplished all pertinent/timely items on the fire/smoke/fumes in the cabin/lavatory checklist. We landed with a gross weight of 127.2. Possibly running engines at an increased power setting post-maintenance check to ensure that engine lube isn't sent into cabin.

Title: A B737-700 FLIGHT CREW EXPERIENCED SMOKE IN THE CABIN SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF. THEY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND RETURNED TO LAND AT THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT.
Narrative: DURING TKOF; THE FLT ATTENDANTS CALLED AND SAID WE HAD SMOKE IN THE CABIN. BEFORE WE GOT TO 1000 FT AGL; THE AFT FLT ATTENDANT CALLED AND SAID THE FUMES WERE GETTING WORSE. I DECLARED AN EMER AND WE LANDED. THE FIRE TRUCKS MET US AND BOARDED THE ACFT. THEY GAVE US AN ALL CLEAR AND THE ACFT WAS TOWED TO A GATE; WE CHANGED PLANES AND CONTINUED ON. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 815391: AT 500 FT AGL; FRONT FLT ATTENDANTS RPTED SMOKE IN THE CABIN. APPROX 5 SECONDS LATER THE AFT FLT ATTENDANT RPTED VERY STRONG SMELL OF 'BURNING PLASTIC.' THE CAPT COORDINATED WITH ATC WHILE I COORDINATED WITH THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND RAN THE CHKLIST. WE DONNED OUR OXYGEN MASKS AND ACCOMPLISHED ALL PERTINENT/TIMELY ITEMS ON THE FIRE/SMOKE/FUMES IN THE CABIN/LAVATORY CHKLIST. WE LANDED WITH A GROSS WT OF 127.2. POSSIBLY RUNNING ENGS AT AN INCREASED PWR SETTING POST-MAINT CHK TO ENSURE THAT ENG LUBE ISN'T SENT INTO CABIN.
