Narrative:

We were flying the gorman departure out of lax. There is a note on the departure stating a speed restr of 250 KIAS until further advised by ATC. We missed this note when briefing the departure procedure; and we began to accelerate to normal climb speed passing 10000 ft MSL. After exceeding 250 KIAS; ATC called to remind us that we were restr to 250 KIAS. We slowed to 250 KIAS as soon as possible. The cause of the error was a failure to notice the noted restr on our departure plate.
