Narrative:

While in cruise flight at FL320; 80 mi west of tulsa; aircraft was experiencing moderate turbulence with altitude deviation of +/-100 ft because of the turbulence. We asked center for ride reports -- FL330 was reported light chop just south of ict. We requested FL340. Aircraft climbed on the autoplt to FL340 and went into altitude capture. While capturing FL340; trend arrow went 25 KTS into vmo (overspd warning sounded) while experiencing moderate turbulence. A moment later the aircraft was gaining altitude while the autothrottles went to idle and the aircraft was being pitched down to recapture FL340. Aircraft climbed 800 ft above FL340 before the autoplt was disconnected to regain FL340. Requested FL320 then FL300 because of the moderate turbulence and big fluctuations in the airspeed. Aircraft was being operated at or below turbulence penetration speed.

Title: A300 FIRST OFFICER REPORTS ENCOUNTERING WAVE ACTION AND TURBULENCE LEVELING AT FL340. AIRCRAFT EXCEEDS VMO BY 25 KNOTS AND CLIMBS 800 FEET.

Narrative: WHILE IN CRUISE FLT AT FL320; 80 MI W OF TULSA; ACFT WAS EXPERIENCING MODERATE TURB WITH ALTDEV OF +/-100 FT BECAUSE OF THE TURB. WE ASKED CTR FOR RIDE RPTS -- FL330 WAS RPTED LIGHT CHOP JUST S OF ICT. WE REQUESTED FL340. ACFT CLBED ON THE AUTOPLT TO FL340 AND WENT INTO ALT CAPTURE. WHILE CAPTURING FL340; TREND ARROW WENT 25 KTS INTO VMO (OVERSPD WARNING SOUNDED) WHILE EXPERIENCING MODERATE TURB. A MOMENT LATER THE ACFT WAS GAINING ALT WHILE THE AUTOTHROTTLES WENT TO IDLE AND THE ACFT WAS BEING PITCHED DOWN TO RECAPTURE FL340. ACFT CLBED 800 FT ABOVE FL340 BEFORE THE AUTOPLT WAS DISCONNECTED TO REGAIN FL340. REQUESTED FL320 THEN FL300 BECAUSE OF THE MODERATE TURB AND BIG FLUCTUATIONS IN THE AIRSPD. ACFT WAS BEING OPERATED AT OR BELOW TURB PENETRATION SPD.
