Narrative:

Preflight flight deck preparation; missed efb manual expiration date -- both captain's and first officer's. Once notified of the expiration; we decided to file reports disclosing the event. In a rush to depart; due to late arriving aircraft; I failed to check efb currency. I was notified on the evening of nov/08 by my first officer on the said flight. He informed me a discovery was made on a later flight that the efb manuals were found to be expired. Never rush a departure. Always take the necessary time to assure that all preflight items are performed fully and properly.
