Narrative:

At 6000 ft given 130 degree heading to join runway 16R from the west. Strong crosswind from approximately 45 degrees from the right at 54 KTS. Autopilot captured localizer and I armed the approach mode. Glideslope was alive and at approximately 1 DOT the autoplt made a false GS capture and aircraft began an abrupt climb with autothrottle adding power. At approximately 6300 ft I disconnected autopilot and hand flew back to 6000 ft and continued approach by hand. No conflict with traffic known; however this could be a safety issue on a close parallel approach.
