Narrative:

I was cleared for takeoff; runway 24 at teb via teb 5 departure (which is fly runway heading until reach 1500 ft; then turn to 280 degree heading; maintain 1500 ft until teb 4.5 DME; then climb and maintain 2000 ft). I mistakenly set altitude preselect at 2000 ft therefore aircraft continued to climb to 2000 ft after reaching 1500 ft and turn to heading 280 degree. Departure control advised me of the altitude and we continued en route uneventfully. Lesson to be learned: be more careful and always double check your work; make sure it is done correctly.

Title: CL601 FLT CREW EXCEEDS 1500 FT PRIOR TO 4.5 DME ON THE TEB 5 DEP.

Narrative: I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF; RWY 24 AT TEB VIA TEB 5 DEP (WHICH IS FLY RWY HDG UNTIL REACH 1500 FT; THEN TURN TO 280 DEG HDG; MAINTAIN 1500 FT UNTIL TEB 4.5 DME; THEN CLB AND MAINTAIN 2000 FT). I MISTAKENLY SET ALT PRESELECT AT 2000 FT THEREFORE ACFT CONTINUED TO CLB TO 2000 FT AFTER REACHING 1500 FT AND TURN TO HDG 280 DEG. DEP CTL ADVISED ME OF THE ALT AND WE CONTINUED ENRTE UNEVENTFULLY. LESSON TO BE LEARNED: BE MORE CAREFUL AND ALWAYS DOUBLE CHK YOUR WORK; MAKE SURE IT IS DONE CORRECTLY.
