Narrative:

En route from ZZZ1 to ZZZ2; an internal failure of the captain's oxygen regulator was experienced. Because of the failure; oxygen was discovered leaking from the captain's oxygen mask and a loss of oxygen from the cockpit oxygen bottle resulted. A descent to a lower altitude was initiated and a divert into ZZZ was completed after consulting with dispatch and company maintenance services.

Title: AN MD80 FLIGHT CREW EXPERIENCED AN OXYGEN LEAK FROM THE CAPTAIN'S MASK. THEY DESCENDED TO A LOWER ALTITUDE AND DIVERTED TO THE NEAREST SUITABLE AIRPORT.

Narrative: ENRTE FROM ZZZ1 TO ZZZ2; AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE CAPT'S OXYGEN REGULATOR WAS EXPERIENCED. BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE; OXYGEN WAS DISCOVERED LEAKING FROM THE CAPT'S OXYGEN MASK AND A LOSS OF OXYGEN FROM THE COCKPIT OXYGEN BOTTLE RESULTED.
