Narrative:

At FL350 got a leading edge flap transit light; indicating #3 leading edge flap was in transit. Executed the QRH procedure which calls for descending to FL200 and extending the flaps if no damage to the flaps is suspected. All procedures were accomplished per the QRH. The flaps were extended and retracted at FL200 and the problem persisted so we continued to ZZZ at FL200 and at 230 KTS or less. On arrival at ZZZ; entered the events in the logbook so that maintenance could troubleshoot the problem. My wording in the logbook may have given the impression that we may have extended the flaps at altitude (FL350). This was not the case. We executed the QRH procedures correctly and did not exceed any aircraft limitations to my knowledge. My write-up included the fact that the QRH was complied with; but I specifically did not state what altitude we extended the flaps. I considered it to be a part of the procedure. But in hindsight; I can see that this information should have been included in the logbook write-up. In the future; I will make sure that the specific information is included to prevent any misinterp of the actual events; just to be as specific as possible when describing the events in the aircraft logbook so that no question of airworthiness is left to the imagination.

Title: A B737-300 LE FLAP TRANSIT LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT FL350. AS PER QRH; CREW DSNDED TO FL200; COMPLETED THE CHKLIST AND CONTINUED TO THE DEST.

Narrative: AT FL350 GOT A LEADING EDGE FLAP TRANSIT LIGHT; INDICATING #3 LEADING EDGE FLAP WAS IN TRANSIT. EXECUTED THE QRH PROC WHICH CALLS FOR DSNDING TO FL200 AND EXTENDING THE FLAPS IF NO DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS IS SUSPECTED. ALL PROCS WERE ACCOMPLISHED PER THE QRH. THE FLAPS WERE EXTENDED AND RETRACTED AT FL200 AND THE PROB PERSISTED SO WE CONTINUED TO ZZZ AT FL200 AND AT 230 KTS OR LESS. ON ARR AT ZZZ; ENTERED THE EVENTS IN THE LOGBOOK SO THAT MAINT COULD TROUBLESHOOT THE PROB. MY WORDING IN THE LOGBOOK MAY HAVE GIVEN THE IMPRESSION THAT WE MAY HAVE EXTENDED THE FLAPS AT ALT (FL350). THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. WE EXECUTED THE QRH PROCS CORRECTLY AND DID NOT EXCEED ANY ACFT LIMITATIONS TO MY KNOWLEDGE. MY WRITE-UP INCLUDED THE FACT THAT THE QRH WAS COMPLIED WITH; BUT I SPECIFICALLY DID NOT STATE WHAT ALT WE EXTENDED THE FLAPS. I CONSIDERED IT TO BE A PART OF THE PROC. BUT IN HINDSIGHT; I CAN SEE THAT THIS INFO SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE LOGBOOK WRITE-UP. IN THE FUTURE; I WILL MAKE SURE THAT THE SPECIFIC INFO IS INCLUDED TO PREVENT ANY MISINTERP OF THE ACTUAL EVENTS; JUST TO BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE WHEN DESCRIBING THE EVENTS IN THE ACFT LOGBOOK SO THAT NO QUESTION OF AIRWORTHINESS IS LEFT TO THE IMAGINATION.
