Narrative:

During climb to FL270 we got a left bleed duct red warning message. Told my first officer to go to the QRH for the 'left bld duct' message and told him I have the aircraft and the radio. I reduced the thrust on the left engine then the message changed from 'red left bld duct' to 'left bld duct' caution message. I told ATC we need to level at FL250 then cabin altitude started rising. I advised ATC we need a lower altitude. ATC gave us FL240. I declared an emergency and ATC gave us 13000 ft. I start the emergency descent. First officer running the QRH and ATC gave us 10000 ft. After level at 10000 ft I called the flight attendants and all in the back were ok; no injuries. Called dispatch and maintenance and told them what happened. We all agree on return to ZZZ airport. First officer makes PA to the passenger and advised them what happened and we are returning to ZZZ.
