Narrative:

Machine was preflted including warm-up. Takeoff was normal. 1 min into flight; loss of power would not allow me to maintain altitude. Had to land in pasture -- I would not have made it over trees. Pasture was very rough with deep water drainage ruts. Upon landing; my feet pushed down on rests; breaking one and creasing other. Left landing axle appears higher than right; so it will be replaced. Chute will need complete check. Rotax 582 engine will start but does not seem to make full power. A&P changed rings approximately 15-20 hours and completed annual condition inspection may/08. This was not an accident. No significant damage and no injuries. Simply hard landing due to loss of power.
