Narrative:

Received non-standard routing on release. Pre departure clearance showed our routing with a change. The change was as follows: TERPZ1 ldn J134 colns J6 hvq. The original route was the same as the (--) change routing with the exception of J6 hvq. My interpretation of the pre departure clearance change was that ATC wanted me to go J6 hvq instead of J6 bwg. I inserted hvq on top of bwg on the route page which deleted J6 bwg and sent us hvq direct mem. ZID contacted us and asked us why we were 15 NM south of J6; to which we responded that we were direct mem on our flight plan route. He then cleared us direct mem and asked us to contact ZID upon landing. J6 goes over hvq already en route to bwg. When I got the change; I thought that they wanted me to go to hvq instead of bwg followed by mem. Why would they give me a change to our routing that actually contained no change at all. I briefed the captain at the gate of our pre departure clearance routing change and we acknowledged it on the route page. In the future I will now question any changes to the pre departure clearance with clearance delivery.

Narrative: RECEIVED NON-STANDARD ROUTING ON RELEASE. PDC SHOWED OUR ROUTING WITH A CHANGE. THE CHANGE WAS AS FOLLOWS: TERPZ1 LDN J134 COLNS J6 HVQ. WHY WOULD THEY GIVE ME A CHANGE TO OUR ROUTING THAT ACTUALLY CONTAINED NO CHANGE AT ALL. I BRIEFED THE CAPT AT THE GATE OF OUR PDC ROUTING CHANGE AND WE ACKNOWLEDGED IT ON THE RTE PAGE. IN THE FUTURE I WILL NOW QUESTION ANY CHANGES TO THE PDC WITH CLRNC DELIVERY.
