Narrative:

The RNAV runway 12 approach in the navigation database for txkf does not match the RNAV runway 12 approach in the route manual. During approach briefing it was noted that the approachs were different. We flew a visual approach to a normal landing. Update the navigation database or the route manual approach chart as appropriate. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that not included in his original report was the fact that although the old noncurrent RNAV approach did display when first selected as the FMS approach; when the crew manually started adding the current fixes the approach displayed correctly including the glide path angle. Since this event he has determined that a recent database change now allows the txkf RNAV 12 approach to display correctly when first selected.

Title: AN A319 PILOT REPORTS A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE TXKF RNAV 12 FMS DATABASE AND THE COMMERCIAL CHART DEPICTING THE TXKF RNAV 12.

Narrative: THE RNAV RWY 12 APCH IN THE NAV DATABASE FOR TXKF DOES NOT MATCH THE RNAV RWY 12 APCH IN THE RTE MANUAL. DURING APCH BRIEFING IT WAS NOTED THAT THE APCHS WERE DIFFERENT. WE FLEW A VISUAL APCH TO A NORMAL LNDG. UPDATE THE NAV DATABASE OR THE RTE MANUAL APCH CHART AS APPROPRIATE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE REPORTER STATED THAT NOT INCLUDED IN HIS ORIGINAL REPORT WAS THE FACT THAT ALTHOUGH THE OLD NONCURRENT RNAV APCH DID DISPLAY WHEN FIRST SELECTED AS THE FMS APCH; WHEN THE CREW MANUALLY STARTED ADDING THE CURRENT FIXES THE APCH DISPLAYED CORRECTLY INCLUDING THE GLIDE PATH ANGLE. SINCE THIS EVENT HE HAS DETERMINED THAT A RECENT DATABASE CHANGE NOW ALLOWS THE TXKF RNAV 12 APCH TO DISPLAY CORRECTLY WHEN FIRST SELECTED.
