Narrative:

Maintenance had cleared an inoperative right generator prior to departure. During normal takeoff; first officer flying; after first officer set power; I selected EPR and placed hand on throttles. Immediately after this; generator drive right EICAS illuminated. I advised I was aborting; reduced power to idle and disconnected throttles. Since ground speed was so low; no braking was immediately applied (ground speed approximately 40 KTS). Bunkie advised flight attendants to remain seated. We exited using light braking. At this time; EICAS message disappeared. We cleared to taxiway; called dispatch who phone-patched to maintenance and maintenance advised return to gate.
