Narrative:

Chief purser was observed sleeping in 1R jumpseat during flight and even when I woke him by passing by and going into lavatory behind cockpit and coming out about 10-15 mins later I saw he was back in same position of slumped in 1R with legs stretched out eyes closed; and observed from 1L for few seconds to see if any movement and there was none. I went back to aft galley and spoke out loud to the coach crew member there that someone was sleeping in the jumpseat. Flight attendant 'B' said she also saw him sleeping in 1R jumpseat. After getting up from his break early; flight attendant 'C' also mentioned that he also saw purser sleeping in same position as I described. This was before the third break which purser was scheduled to take; and we observed him sleeping in 1R at different times. Another incident: when preparing for landing announcement and descent; I turned up low lighting to prepare for lighting condition to equal outside landing lighting condition as I only had control of coach cabin lighting only; and I was seated 4R looking forward. I notice that business and first class cabin lighting was still dark; and that purser seated at 1L facing aft did not turn up the cabin lights. Supplemental information from acn 785038: I was reported for incidents that are erroneous and am obliged to respond and correct the allegations made to me. Allegation #1: sleeping on the jumpseat at 1R. In my yrs of flying (most of which is flying international route) I have never been reported as 'sleeping on the job.' there may be occasions on long flts that I may require to recess my eyes from time-to-time so as to help my eyes get resuscitated. This is not an indication of being in a periodic stage of 'sleeping.' besides; I could not have been 'sleeping' when there was turbulence on and off and I had to constantly check that passenger have their seatbelts on. Allegation #2: leaving first class and business class light dimmed during landing. On this flight we landed around XA55. It was raining and dark outside. Therefore; the light from the inside cabin was equal to the outside lighting. Allegation #3: walking away from the jumpseat several mins during taxi to the gate. As we approached the jetway bridge; I reached out to retrieve the documentation box under seat which is right in front of me to the left. I also had to adjust the cabin lighting which is located right above my jumpseat. This could not have been 'several mins' as what I am being accused of.

Title: FLIGHT ATTENDANT IS REPORTED FOR SLEEPING ON DUTY AND OTHER VIOLATIONS OF COMPANY PROCEDURES.

Narrative: CHIEF PURSER WAS OBSERVED SLEEPING IN 1R JUMPSEAT DURING FLT AND EVEN WHEN I WOKE HIM BY PASSING BY AND GOING INTO LAVATORY BEHIND COCKPIT AND COMING OUT ABOUT 10-15 MINS LATER I SAW HE WAS BACK IN SAME POS OF SLUMPED IN 1R WITH LEGS STRETCHED OUT EYES CLOSED; AND OBSERVED FROM 1L FOR FEW SECONDS TO SEE IF ANY MOVEMENT AND THERE WAS NONE. I WENT BACK TO AFT GALLEY AND SPOKE OUT LOUD TO THE COACH CREW MEMBER THERE THAT SOMEONE WAS SLEEPING IN THE JUMPSEAT. FLT ATTENDANT 'B' SAID SHE ALSO SAW HIM SLEEPING IN 1R JUMPSEAT. AFTER GETTING UP FROM HIS BREAK EARLY; FLT ATTENDANT 'C' ALSO MENTIONED THAT HE ALSO SAW PURSER SLEEPING IN SAME POS AS I DESCRIBED. THIS WAS BEFORE THE THIRD BREAK WHICH PURSER WAS SCHEDULED TO TAKE; AND WE OBSERVED HIM SLEEPING IN 1R AT DIFFERENT TIMES. ANOTHER INCIDENT: WHEN PREPARING FOR LNDG ANNOUNCEMENT AND DSCNT; I TURNED UP LOW LIGHTING TO PREPARE FOR LIGHTING CONDITION TO EQUAL OUTSIDE LNDG LIGHTING CONDITION AS I ONLY HAD CTL OF COACH CABIN LIGHTING ONLY; AND I WAS SEATED 4R LOOKING FORWARD. I NOTICE THAT BUSINESS AND FIRST CLASS CABIN LIGHTING WAS STILL DARK; AND THAT PURSER SEATED AT 1L FACING AFT DID NOT TURN UP THE CABIN LIGHTS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 785038: I WAS RPTED FOR INCIDENTS THAT ARE ERRONEOUS AND AM OBLIGED TO RESPOND AND CORRECT THE ALLEGATIONS MADE TO ME. ALLEGATION #1: SLEEPING ON THE JUMPSEAT AT 1R. IN MY YRS OF FLYING (MOST OF WHICH IS FLYING INTL RTE) I HAVE NEVER BEEN RPTED AS 'SLEEPING ON THE JOB.' THERE MAY BE OCCASIONS ON LONG FLTS THAT I MAY REQUIRE TO RECESS MY EYES FROM TIME-TO-TIME SO AS TO HELP MY EYES GET RESUSCITATED. THIS IS NOT AN INDICATION OF BEING IN A PERIODIC STAGE OF 'SLEEPING.' BESIDES; I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN 'SLEEPING' WHEN THERE WAS TURB ON AND OFF AND I HAD TO CONSTANTLY CHK THAT PAX HAVE THEIR SEATBELTS ON. ALLEGATION #2: LEAVING FIRST CLASS AND BUSINESS CLASS LIGHT DIMMED DURING LNDG. ON THIS FLT WE LANDED AROUND XA55. IT WAS RAINING AND DARK OUTSIDE. THEREFORE; THE LIGHT FROM THE INSIDE CABIN WAS EQUAL TO THE OUTSIDE LIGHTING. ALLEGATION #3: WALKING AWAY FROM THE JUMPSEAT SEVERAL MINS DURING TAXI TO THE GATE. AS WE APCHED THE JETWAY BRIDGE; I REACHED OUT TO RETRIEVE THE DOCUMENTATION BOX UNDER SEAT WHICH IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME TO THE L. I ALSO HAD TO ADJUST THE CABIN LIGHTING WHICH IS LOCATED RIGHT ABOVE MY JUMPSEAT. THIS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN 'SEVERAL MINS' AS WHAT I AM BEING ACCUSED OF.
