Narrative:

This was the first time I had jacked a Q-400 since coming to this airline and was unaware that the jack pads were different from one station to the next. I seated my jack and awaited ok for the nose to complete before I jacked my side. I do recall pushing the nose jack and the left main jack into position but I don't recall putting the jack pad in the nose. I did install the left main jack pad which; come to find out; was meant for the nose. I didn't find out until 1 week later that damage had occurred.
