Narrative:

We departed runway 15R in baltimore with r-hand turns to the northwest; via ATC assigned headings. Potomac then gave us direct 'wonce' intersection to join the TERPZ1 SID with the ramay transition. This waypoint is not designated as an 'overfly' waypoint so from our position the flight management guidance computer constructs an arc to fly that never crosses directly over that intersection. The potomac departure controller did not like this and issued us a phone number to call upon reaching our destination. I feel that either this SID needs an overfly waypoint; a speed restr; or another point between wonce and jimee intersection. We flew the aircraft per our company SOP's and don't deserve to be hassled or threatened by a controller that does not feel we complied with his clearance.

Title: A320 FLT CREW IS CHASTISED BY PCT CONTROLLER FOR MAKING BROAD SHALLOW TURN AT WONCE ON THE TERPZ1 OUT OF BWI.

Narrative: WE DEPARTED RWY 15R IN BALTIMORE WITH R-HAND TURNS TO THE NW; VIA ATC ASSIGNED HDGS. POTOMAC THEN GAVE US DIRECT 'WONCE' INTXN TO JOIN THE TERPZ1 SID WITH THE RAMAY TRANSITION. THIS WAYPOINT IS NOT DESIGNATED AS AN 'OVERFLY' WAYPOINT SO FROM OUR POS THE FLT MGMNT GUIDANCE COMPUTER CONSTRUCTS AN ARC TO FLY THAT NEVER CROSSES DIRECTLY OVER THAT INTXN. THE POTOMAC DEP CTLR DID NOT LIKE THIS AND ISSUED US A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL UPON REACHING OUR DEST. I FEEL THAT EITHER THIS SID NEEDS AN OVERFLY WAYPOINT; A SPD RESTR; OR ANOTHER POINT BTWN WONCE AND JIMEE INTXN. WE FLEW THE ACFT PER OUR COMPANY SOP'S AND DON'T DESERVE TO BE HASSLED OR THREATENED BY A CTLR THAT DOES NOT FEEL WE COMPLIED WITH HIS CLRNC.
