Narrative:

I was the relief pilot on break. Notified of smoke in aft galley. Strong smell of electrical fire noticed about mid economy cabin on way to aft galley. No visual signs of fire or smoke upon arrival in galley. Galley had power removed prior to my arrival. Talked with flight attendant and captain via intercom and advised him of the situation. Told flight attendants to monitor the area and I returned to cockpit. Decision was made to divert to ZZZZ. Good job by flight attendant crew and cockpit during busy divert. Had this been a polar trip with hours to go for any good landing field; it would have been good to have a screwdriver available to remove the coffee maker and look for possible source prior to a divert that could be very costly and dangerous. In this case it was an easy decision to divert with many good airports so close.
