Narrative:

I discovered that all of the STAR's and siap's and so forth that were available via the erids system on live ATC sectors in my specialty at ZFW (and; I assume; throughout the facility) had expired approximately 2 weeks prior. This was immediately reported to the supervisor on duty. Another controller and I searched the area trying to find hard-copies of the approach plates; or SID's/STAR's; or even the current high and low altitude charts. None could be found. I was able to find a current AP1B; a current publication on NOTAMS and 2 facility directories (those covering our area and some western states; including california). So the air traffic controllers have no current approach plates to which they can refer when controling traffic in their assigned airspace. It was this controller's understanding that erids was a fully automated system.

Title: ZFW CTLR DESCRIBED ENROUTE INFORMATION DISPLAY SYSTEM (ERIDS) EVENT WHEN DISPLAYED DATA WAS NOT CURRENT.

Narrative: I DISCOVERED THAT ALL OF THE STAR'S AND SIAP'S AND SO FORTH THAT WERE AVAILABLE VIA THE ERIDS SYS ON LIVE ATC SECTORS IN MY SPECIALTY AT ZFW (AND; I ASSUME; THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY) HAD EXPIRED APPROX 2 WKS PRIOR. THIS WAS IMMEDIATELY RPTED TO THE SUPVR ON DUTY. ANOTHER CTLR AND I SEARCHED THE AREA TRYING TO FIND HARD-COPIES OF THE APCH PLATES; OR SID'S/STAR'S; OR EVEN THE CURRENT HIGH AND LOW ALT CHARTS. NONE COULD BE FOUND. I WAS ABLE TO FIND A CURRENT AP1B; A CURRENT PUB ON NOTAMS AND 2 FACILITY DIRECTORIES (THOSE COVERING OUR AREA AND SOME WESTERN STATES; INCLUDING CALIFORNIA). SO THE AIR TFC CTLRS HAVE NO CURRENT APCH PLATES TO WHICH THEY CAN REFER WHEN CTLING TFC IN THEIR ASSIGNED AIRSPACE. IT WAS THIS CTLR'S UNDERSTANDING THAT ERIDS WAS A FULLY AUTOMATED SYS.
