Narrative:

In cruise we lost green system hydraulic quantity and followed the checklist for manual gear extension and a tow in from a straight ahead stop on the runway. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the hydraulic system was lost approaching destination; so the flight continued. Additional time was planned for the slower extension of flaps and manual landing gear extension. This malfunction also results in the loss of nosewheel steering; so an emergency was declared; arrangements were made for a tug; and the aircraft was stopped on the runway.
