On approach to ZZZ; after lowering landing gear; a hydraulic quantity decreased to zero; followed by zero a hydraulic system pressure indicated on hydraulic pressure gauge. Followed QRH loss of system a procedure. Declared an emergency. Landed uneventfully. Taxied clear of runway; joined ramp; stopped and was then towed to hardstand.
