Narrative:

Short staffing is a safety issue at ZTL. Our supervisor asked for overtime on the evening shift. We have thunderstorms in our airspace. Many tmu restrs and WX re-rtes. We were in and out of holding for atl because of a reduced arrival rate. Controller fatigue is an issue at ZTL. Last year at this time; the busiest facility in the world (ZTL) had 400+ certified controllers. We now have 294. We have a serious staffing problem that needs to be filled with overtime until the new trainees that choose to stay are checked out.
