Narrative:

Just prior to entering downwind for runway 17; I canceled IFR flight plan with approach. We landed our king air B200 at destination airport. It was dusk. During landing rollout just after application of reverse thrust; a line of deer crossed the runway. Propellers impacted 2 deer of at least 6 that crossed the path. I tried to apply brakes; but this was almost simultaneous with the impact. Engines were still running as aircraft slowed. Environmental smoke entered the cabin. Bleed air valves were then closed; vent blower turned to high to clear cabin. Copilot confirmed cabin had depressurized normally upon landing; so I opened pilot side vent window. I taxied aircraft clear of taxiway and onto parking ramp straight ahead. Engines were then shut down and passenger deplaned. No injuries sustained. Propeller strikes on both sides noted as well as fluid leak from right engine. Flight was part 91; however; part 135 management company was notified. Advised that no further action or notification required. A jet had to go around while airport personnel cleared carcasses from the runway. I cannot think of any corrective action that could have changed the outcome. By the time the deer jumped in front of us; it was too late for brake application or go around procedures. We maintained the centerline after strike and quickly assessed ability to taxi clear of runway. There is a partial perimeter fence around the airport. Though it cannot be eliminated; a complete fence could deter deer from congregating on the airport property.

Title: BE20 STRUCK DEER DURING LNDG ROLLOUT.

Narrative: JUST PRIOR TO ENTERING DOWNWIND FOR RWY 17; I CANCELED IFR FLT PLAN WITH APCH. WE LANDED OUR KING AIR B200 AT DEST ARPT. IT WAS DUSK. DURING LNDG ROLLOUT JUST AFTER APPLICATION OF REVERSE THRUST; A LINE OF DEER CROSSED THE RWY. PROPS IMPACTED 2 DEER OF AT LEAST 6 THAT CROSSED THE PATH. I TRIED TO APPLY BRAKES; BUT THIS WAS ALMOST SIMULTANEOUS WITH THE IMPACT. ENGS WERE STILL RUNNING AS ACFT SLOWED. ENVIRONMENTAL SMOKE ENTERED THE CABIN. BLEED AIR VALVES WERE THEN CLOSED; VENT BLOWER TURNED TO HIGH TO CLR CABIN. COPLT CONFIRMED CABIN HAD DEPRESSURIZED NORMALLY UPON LNDG; SO I OPENED PLT SIDE VENT WINDOW. I TAXIED ACFT CLR OF TXWY AND ONTO PARKING RAMP STRAIGHT AHEAD. ENGS WERE THEN SHUT DOWN AND PAX DEPLANED. NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. PROP STRIKES ON BOTH SIDES NOTED AS WELL AS FLUID LEAK FROM R ENG. FLT WAS PART 91; HOWEVER; PART 135 MGMNT COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED. ADVISED THAT NO FURTHER ACTION OR NOTIFICATION REQUIRED. A JET HAD TO GO AROUND WHILE ARPT PERSONNEL CLRED CARCASSES FROM THE RWY. I CANNOT THINK OF ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION THAT COULD HAVE CHANGED THE OUTCOME. BY THE TIME THE DEER JUMPED IN FRONT OF US; IT WAS TOO LATE FOR BRAKE APPLICATION OR GAR PROCS. WE MAINTAINED THE CTRLINE AFTER STRIKE AND QUICKLY ASSESSED ABILITY TO TAXI CLR OF RWY. THERE IS A PARTIAL PERIMETER FENCE AROUND THE ARPT. THOUGH IT CANNOT BE ELIMINATED; A COMPLETE FENCE COULD DETER DEER FROM CONGREGATING ON THE ARPT PROPERTY.
