Narrative:

Helicopter landing abbeville la 0r3. I had 122.80 unicom tuned up 15 mi out and monitoring. At 10 mi I made my initial call for approach to land; followed by a 5 mi and a 2 1/2 mi. I had picked up a sporadic target on TCAS at 5 mi at approximately my 7 O'clock position. No other aircraft had made a call to land or transition the area. Right after my 2 1/2 mi call TCAS sounded the traffic alert with target dead over my position. I looked up slightly left to notice another bell helicopter about 200 ft away and slightly above transiting from my back left to forward right. I immediately did a descending left turn to deconflict with traffic. The traffic continued on its course unaltered. I completed my approach to enter the downwind and land. The other aircraft never made a call.
