Narrative:

I had a slide deployment on this flight. This was my first purser flight on the airbus with the combination of redeye flight. I've been flying for 4 months and I have only experienced being purser once before with the B737. I have never done the meal galley position and my task was purser with snack service with brand new announcement book on redeye flight with a lot of misconnections. I was converted from call-in reserve to ready-reserve on oct/xx/07. I was awake from XA00 am on that day and when we arrived at ZZZ I was awake for almost 23 hours. I was very nervous to do the purser position this time since I didn't have confidence to deal with the video system. I was very tired and just before we landed first class passenger asked me to order a wheelchair through pilot and a lot of passenger asked me about connecting information since the flight was delayed originally. Also few passenger wanted to have their snacks before landing instead of serving them at night. When pilot made an announcement for 'prepare for landing' I had 3 trays and 7 coffee cups on passenger tables to put away and video system was still deployed which no one knew how to deal with well and I had to figure out my brand new announcement book where to read and finalizing my liquor paperwork. I was very much overwhelmed and tired. I could situation on my jumpseat just before the plane landed. However; I still had liquor paperwork and landing announcement. I was rushing to do the paperwork for liquor after announcement. I checked outside and I saw jetway was coming to us; so I made an announcement 'flight attendants disarm the door for arrival.' I was rushing so I couldn't put PA microphone back on the holder and it took me few seconds to put it back. When I thought I was disarming the door I grabbed the wrong handle. I didn't notice that I moved up the wrong handle until the door started opening. Finally; the slide deployed and I noticed that I opened the door without disarming. I really thought I was disarming the door when I opened the door.

Title: NEW HIRE FA CITES FATIGUE AND INEXPERIENCE ON THE A320 AS FACTORS IN AN INADVERTENT SLIDE DEPLOYMENT.

Narrative: I HAD A SLIDE DEPLOYMENT ON THIS FLT. THIS WAS MY FIRST PURSER FLT ON THE AIRBUS WITH THE COMBINATION OF REDEYE FLT. I'VE BEEN FLYING FOR 4 MONTHS AND I HAVE ONLY EXPERIENCED BEING PURSER ONCE BEFORE WITH THE B737. I HAVE NEVER DONE THE MEAL GALLEY POS AND MY TASK WAS PURSER WITH SNACK SVC WITH BRAND NEW ANNOUNCEMENT BOOK ON REDEYE FLT WITH A LOT OF MISCONNECTIONS. I WAS CONVERTED FROM CALL-IN RESERVE TO READY-RESERVE ON OCT/XX/07. I WAS AWAKE FROM XA00 AM ON THAT DAY AND WHEN WE ARRIVED AT ZZZ I WAS AWAKE FOR ALMOST 23 HRS. I WAS VERY NERVOUS TO DO THE PURSER POS THIS TIME SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE CONFIDENCE TO DEAL WITH THE VIDEO SYS. I WAS VERY TIRED AND JUST BEFORE WE LANDED FIRST CLASS PAX ASKED ME TO ORDER A WHEELCHAIR THROUGH PLT AND A LOT OF PAX ASKED ME ABOUT CONNECTING INFO SINCE THE FLT WAS DELAYED ORIGINALLY. ALSO FEW PAX WANTED TO HAVE THEIR SNACKS BEFORE LNDG INSTEAD OF SERVING THEM AT NIGHT. WHEN PLT MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 'PREPARE FOR LNDG' I HAD 3 TRAYS AND 7 COFFEE CUPS ON PAX TABLES TO PUT AWAY AND VIDEO SYS WAS STILL DEPLOYED WHICH NO ONE KNEW HOW TO DEAL WITH WELL AND I HAD TO FIGURE OUT MY BRAND NEW ANNOUNCEMENT BOOK WHERE TO READ AND FINALIZING MY LIQUOR PAPERWORK. I WAS VERY MUCH OVERWHELMED AND TIRED. I COULD SIT ON MY JUMPSEAT JUST BEFORE THE PLANE LANDED. HOWEVER; I STILL HAD LIQUOR PAPERWORK AND LNDG ANNOUNCEMENT. I WAS RUSHING TO DO THE PAPERWORK FOR LIQUOR AFTER ANNOUNCEMENT. I CHKED OUTSIDE AND I SAW JETWAY WAS COMING TO US; SO I MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT 'FLT ATTENDANTS DISARM THE DOOR FOR ARR.' I WAS RUSHING SO I COULDN'T PUT PA MIKE BACK ON THE HOLDER AND IT TOOK ME FEW SECONDS TO PUT IT BACK.
