Narrative:

As the lead assigned to aircraft X I was in the process of closing the package to release the aircraft. Part of my responsibility was to close out maintenance discrepancy forms involving partial work accomplished on the aircraft. I inadvertently closed out the forms for the partial work not realizing that partial work had not been completed on 2 items; which had been written up. I was subsequently informed that evening by my supervisor that the matter of incomplete work had not been addressed and that the aircraft had been dispatched for service. One item involved an inoperative right hand runway turnoff light; the other item involved 4 missing screws on the #2 engine pylon top panel. We addressed these 2 items and corrected them the next day at the gate when the aircraft was passing through on a through flight. The log page items were fixed and signed off.
