Narrative:

Our pre-departure brief included a noise abatement takeoff from teb runway 19; and the dalton VFR departure procedure; as requested by clearance delivery. I had made the turn to 280 degrees after reaching 800 ft; and within 4 DME of teb as prescribed by the dalton departure; but may have drifted toward the 4 DME limit. Ny departure suggested we turn to a 300 degree heading; which I immediately did; and then we were reassigned heading 280 degrees. The aircraft was heavy and the temperature was warm; therefore the noise abatement climb was sluggish; and the turn to 280 degrees was perhaps delayed more than usual. This was the first time I had done the dalton departure; and my attention was focused on the noise abatement procedures and slow climb speed. The combination of heavy aircraft; warm temperatures; non standard takeoff procedures; and a VFR departure procedure with which I had not done before; all may have contributed to this event. There was no conflict with other aircraft.

Title: A HAWKER 800XP DEPARTING TEB ON THE DALTON DEP DEVIATED FROM THE CHARTED TRACK; IN PART BECAUSE IT WAS A WARM DAY AND THE ACFT WAS HEAVY.

Narrative: OUR PRE-DEP BRIEF INCLUDED A NOISE ABATEMENT TAKEOFF FROM TEB RWY 19; AND THE DALTON VFR DEP PROC; AS REQUESTED BY CLRNC DELIVERY. I HAD MADE THE TURN TO 280 DEGS AFTER REACHING 800 FT; AND WITHIN 4 DME OF TEB AS PRESCRIBED BY THE DALTON DEP; BUT MAY HAVE DRIFTED TOWARD THE 4 DME LIMIT. NY DEP SUGGESTED WE TURN TO A 300 DEG HEADING; WHICH I IMMEDIATELY DID; AND THEN WE WERE REASSIGNED HEADING 280 DEGREES. THE ACFT WAS HEAVY AND THE TEMP WAS WARM; THEREFORE THE NOISE ABATEMENT CLB WAS SLUGGISH; AND THE TURN TO 280 DEGS WAS PERHAPS DELAYED MORE THAN USUAL. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD DONE THE DALTON DEP; AND MY ATTENTION WAS FOCUSED ON THE NOISE ABATEMENT PROCS AND SLOW CLB SPEED. THE COMBINATION OF HEAVY ACFT; WARM TEMPS; NON STANDARD TAKEOFF PROCS; AND A VFR DEP PROC WITH WHICH I HAD NOT DONE BEFORE; ALL MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS EVENT. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT WITH OTHER ACFT.
