Narrative:

Hydraulic green reservoir low level. Complied with QRH and ECAM actions. ACARS messaged back and forth to maintenance. They informed us that they would get maintenance to meet us in ZZZ. On descent into ZZZ we decided to declare an emergency because of the actions taken during the QRH and ECAM had us select the green engine pump and ptu off. Without the green hydraulic we would have to manually select the landing gear down which would cause the loss of nosewheel steering; so we would have to stop straight ahead on the runway. Without the green hydraulic we also lost automatic and normal braking.
