Narrative:

1.5 hours at cruise right engine went to idle. Declared emergency with ATC; talked to dispatch and maintenance; coordinated divert to ZZZZ. Landed uneventful. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the fuel governor in the fuel control unit failed. The engine reduced to about 60% N1 but did not stop running. The crew left the engine operating for electrical and hydraulic power but turned the bleed air off.

Narrative: 1.5 HRS AT CRUISE R ENG WENT TO IDLE. DECLARED EMER WITH ATC; TALKED TO DISPATCH AND MAINT; COORDINATED DIVERT TO ZZZZ. LANDED UNEVENTFUL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THAT THE FUEL GOVERNOR IN THE FUEL CONTROL UNIT FAILED. THE ENG REDUCED TO ABOUT 60% N1 BUT DID NOT STOP RUNNING. THE CREW LEFT THE ENG OPERATING FOR ELECTRICAL AND HYD POWER BUT TURNED THE BLEED AIR OFF.
