Narrative:

Due to deviating for WX; we were east of mco and approach told us to expect runway 17L. We set up and briefed runway 17L. Since I was PF; captain was talking to ATC. I think what happened was when ATC switched us to tower; they gave us the tower frequency for runway 18R. Captain checked in; we were vectored around and told cleared for a visual to runway 18R. Captain said; no we want to stay on runway 17L. There was some confusion on tower's part because it seemed they expected us to land on runway 18R; and didn't know why we were saying we wanted runway 17L. We didn't want to fuss with a last min runway change. Tower made a comment as to we were cleared to runway 18R; we disagree. We landed uneventfully on runway 17L after given clearance to land on runway 17L.
