Narrative:

On the seavu 1 arrival into lax; we planned for the transition to runway 24R. We were told to descend via the seavu 1. Between seavu and dixxn; our landing runway was changed to runway 25L. While I was flying the descent; the captain programmed the new transition into the mcdu. After reviewing and executing the new transition; we discovered that we would be high (approximately 500 ft) to make the first hard altitude crossing at taroc intersection. The captain was unable to request deviation from the altitude at taroc due to frequency congestion. We crossed taroc high; but continued on the descent making all other crossings. Shortly after crossing taroc intersection; we were asked if the airfield and traffic was in sight. It was; and we were cleared for the visual approach. ATC never questioned the crossing or a failure to make it.supplemental information from reporter 745127: the first officer set up the seavu arrival runway 24R in the FMC. I should have verified with him that the arrival calls for runway 25L unless instructed otherwise by ATC. I thought that he knew that and would change it if ATC didn't give us runway 24R. By the time I pointed it out to him; we were high on the descent and crossed taroc approximately 500 ft high. ATC was so busy that I couldn't get in to ask for relief from the crossing restriction. If in doubt; speak up now.

Title: A B737-700 GETS A RUNWAY CHANGE APPROACHING LAX AND FAILS TO MAKE A CROSSING RESTRICTION.

Narrative: ON THE SEAVU 1 ARRIVAL INTO LAX; WE PLANNED FOR THE TRANSITION TO RWY 24R. WE WERE TOLD TO DESCEND VIA THE SEAVU 1. BETWEEN SEAVU AND DIXXN; OUR LANDING RWY WAS CHANGED TO RWY 25L. WHILE I WAS FLYING THE DESCENT; THE CAPTAIN PROGRAMMED THE NEW TRANSITION INTO THE MCDU. AFTER REVIEWING AND EXECUTING THE NEW TRANSITION; WE DISCOVERED THAT WE WOULD BE HIGH (APPROX 500 FT) TO MAKE THE FIRST HARD ALTITUDE CROSSING AT TAROC INTERSECTION. ATC NEVER QUESTIONED THE CROSSING OR A FAILURE TO MAKE IT.SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM RPTR 745127: THE FO SET UP THE SEAVU ARRIVAL RWY 24R IN THE FMC. I SHOULD HAVE VERIFIED WITH HIM THAT THE ARRIVAL CALLS FOR RWY 25L UNLESS INSTRUCTED OTHERWISE BY ATC. I THOUGHT THAT HE KNEW THAT AND WOULD CHANGE IT IF ATC DIDN'T GIVE US RWY 24R.
