Narrative:

Was returning in RV8 in VFR flight from ykm to shn on jan/sun/07. WX was VFR; estimate 8500 ft scattered; high overcast; flight visibility unrestr (50 mi). Approximately 6 northeast omm class D; heading direct shn; observed looming white or silver low wing aircraft climbing into my airspace at 3-4 O'clock position. Immediately took 3 G evasive action in left climbing turn. Other aircraft passed below and continued on original heading to the east; northeast. No obvious evasive maneuvers observed in other aircraft. Was not on flight following; although was listening to sea approach on 126.5. Was above olm class D.
